In addition to rescue and rehabilitation of flying-foxes and microbats, Bat Rescue Inc. undertakes many other activities related to their welfare, such as:
conservation activities
education and public promotion
instigation of and active participation in vegetation management and colony habitat restoration
hazard reduction initiatives (i.e. barbed wire, fruit tree netting, electrocution)
Since our first project in 2004 when Bat Rescue co-ordinated an emergency airlift operation for 90 tick paralysis orphans from Far North Queensland, a number of major projects have been undertaken - often in partnership with other organisations. Our reputation as a group whose vision and effort goes beyond simply being carers has been well and truly established.
